Leisure Travel Alliance (LTA) is a travel marketing network of world class travel
suppliers and professional travel agents. Features and benefits for affiliated travel
agents include enhanced access to leading travel suppliers, negotiated pricing,
marketing programs, ongoing education, enhanced compensation and efficient travel
technology tools.
Reciprocally, LTA provides suppliers with marketing, sales, training and technology
pipelines to large numbers of professional travel agents combined with LTA's hands-on,
high-touch management of supplier/agent relationships.
Our ultimate goal is to provide consumers with access to high-quality, high-value
vacation offerings of world class tour operators, cruise lines, resorts and hotels.
Most importantly, consumers will have access to destination expertise, product experience
and pricing validation
provided by professional travel consultants.
LTA is a Texas-based corporation. Founders Stuart Godwin, Steve Kaplan, and John Shands
each have over 30 years of experience serving the needs and interests of travel
agents, travel suppliers and travel consumers.
Experienced, Professional Travel Agents
Leisure Travel Alliance conducts interviews with prospective travel agency and travel
agent affiliates to reasonably determine the applicant's level of travel industry
experience, professionalism and productivity potential. LTA's membership is a mix
of traditional storefront travel agencies, experienced home-based agents and IC
host agencies.
LTA does not accept entry-level applicants as direct affiliates. LTA is happy to
refer entry-level individuals to LTA-affiliated host travel agencies that provide
training tools and other resources for entry-level applicants.
LTA may choose not to retain any affiliate that becomes the subject of multiple
consumer or supplier complaints.
Technology for Travel Agencies
Electronic and computer technology has been an essential component of travel agency
and travel supplier relationships for more than thirty years.
Leisure Travel Alliance has developed for its affiliated travel agencies a content-rich,
state-of-the-art Extranet platform which serves as a super-portal for travel agents
to access a wide range of the industry's most advanced and efficient booking engines.
By utilizing the super-portal concept, LTA's affiliated travel agencies have full-access
to preferred supplier booking sites and proven third-party technology. The portal
model bypasses the cost, inventory limitations, pricing uncertainties and interface
problems frequently associated with partially developed third-party booking platforms.
The super-portal method offers direct access to more suppliers of choice, more direct
access to full supplier inventory, and more direct access to minute-by-minute supplier
pricing.
LTA provides each preferred supplier with their own exclusive LTA Extranet module.
All information and related links for that supplier are contained within their respective
module. Each dedicated module includes the vendor's products, destinations, tactical
offers, contact information, commission offers, B-2-B communications, booking engine
links and marketing programs. In addition, the LTA platform has powerful search
capabilities to lead agents to the most appropriate vendors, vendor destinations,
products, and tactical offers.
Technology for Travel Consumers
Over the past decade, technology has also become an essential channel for the delivery
of travel information and pricing to consumers. Leisure Travel Alliance provides
travel consumers with one of the most content-rich travel consumer Web sites available
anywhere. Destination information, along with hundreds of itineraries and pricing
offers, can be browsed and researched at the customer's convenience.
Throughout the LTA consumer site, LTA encourages Web-minded consumers to research
destinations, itineraries and pricing online while continuously reminding customers
